Ian will be rendering a low resolution animation of the proposed look for the opening title sequence for Ghosthunter, for a viewing next week. DateTimeSubject19th June 2000 12:12:47 GHOSTHUNTERAmulet Films have been working with Future Forests to make Ghosthunter a carbon neutral production. It has never been done before on a short film or, we understand, on a feature film. The idea is to calculate the energy output for the film to arrive at the carbon dioxide output. Future Forests will then plant the relevant number of trees in sustainable forestry projects - to counter the greenhouse gas emission for the production. For further information about Future Forests and their work visit their website - www.futureforests.com.
Keep tuned for further announcements on this unique project.
DateTimeSubject17th June 2000 19:23:33 GHOSTHUNTER Meeting today with Charles Sharman Cox (Documentary Director). The final interview with Simon & Alison (Producers) will take place at the end of July, once Ghosthunter is in its final stages. Further footage will be shot by Gavin (DoP) and Simon (Director), on a Sony VX1000 Mini DV Camera, as they follow the film through grading sessions at CFC & Technicolor and the final mix at Shepperton.
This documentary is a major part of all the support material for Ghosthunter. A second documentary was shot for FilmFour and can now be downloaded from this site. A six minute long piece was broadcast on the 12 May for "Short Attention Span Cinema" on FilmFour. To keep the file size suitable for downloading the picture has been heavily compressed, follow the link to "The Publicity" from the Ghosthunter pages.
DateTimeSubject14th June 2000 11:47:02 THE BOOK The manuscript for our book "How To Make Great Short Feature Films: The Making Of Ghosthunter" was handed in to Focal Press today. Barring any small amendments the book will be going into production shortly for publication later this year.
DateTimeSubject12th June 2000 18:32:44 GHOSTHUNTER Lunchtime meeting today with Sam Auguste (Sound Editor). Simon (Director) and Sam went through the film and discussed the sound design, as it stands so far, for the film.
DateTimeSubject7th June 2000 16:26:24 GHOSTHUNTER This morning we had a grading session with Rod Duncan (VFX Creative Artist, CFC), Gavin (DoP) and Simon (Director) on the Domino system at CFC. Rob can now commence work on the effects shots.
DateTimeSubject6th June 2000 23:34:06 GHOSTHUNTER A final look at the film this afternoon before locking the picture this evening. Although this is the final edit we still have to cut in the title sequence, the finished effects from CFC and the end roll of credits but the timings for all these have been accounted for.
Various play-outs will now be distributed to Mark and Sam (Sound Editors) Barrington (Composer), CFC (Digital Effects) and Ian Firth (Title Designer, Design Resource Ltd).
DateTimeSubject5th June 2000 12:52:46 GHOSTHUNTER Back into the edit suite to start assembling the final cut. The previews we had at the end of April have proven very useful and we received a lot of positive feedback. The film will run to just under 20 minutes including all titles.
