VFX meeting this morning at CFC with Rob Duncan (VFX Supervisor). Almost all the effects shots have been completed, the meeting this morning was to go through these final shots and discuss and approve them before they're released for scanning back onto film. Once the check prints has been approved all concerned will go into CFC's preview theatre to see them projected. Also, scanning of the opening titles began today at The Film Factory. The VFX shots and opening titles will be the first elements of the film to be seen at full 35mm resolution.

Foley session all day at Shepperton today. We also took the opportunity to ADR a couple of Alison's and Jacqueline's lines, (Sarah & Anne). The session went without problem and we were also able to meet with Robin O'Donoghue (Re-Recording Mixer) and discuss the possibility of pre-mixing the sound sometime in the next two weeks. We hope to pre-mix the week beginning 31st July and final mix in early September.

Our third meeting at CFC (The Computer Film Company) and a look at the next batch of effect shots. We're approximately half way through the effects work, most of the 'looks' for each effect has been debated and all that is left is the physical work on the Domino system and any minor adjustments once they're reviewed.

We have also just secured sponsorship from The Film Factory who will be scanning out the opening title sequence to film for us. This opening sequence is almost complete and we hope to release the titles to The Film Factory this week. The Titles have been animated with Adobe After Effects and currently exist in digital format. As with the special effects, once they have been digitally rendered up to a high enough resolution, they need to be scanned onto 35mm film at a rate of about 40 seconds per frame.

Meeting today with Barrington Pheloung (Composer) for a spotting session on the film. Having already written the music for the trailer this was the starting point for the musical theme and tone for the film itself. Simon (Director) and Alison (Producer) went through the film with Barrington in his studio. Each section of the film requiring music was noted and Barrington will now start composing a sample track for a second meeting in the near future.

Simon (Director) and Alison (Producer) met with Ian Firth (Title Design) to see a rough rendering of the work so far. Ian has been using Adobe After Effects to animate the title sequence, the next step is to transfer the graphics over to the Avid and cut them into the film. All cuts of the film so far have been using temporary Avid titles.
