The fine cut of Moth continues with another session in the edit suite. We now have an additional three cuts of the film, all concentrating on different variations of the opening scenes. We'll be looking closely at each of these cuts over the next few days.

Eddie Hamilton (Editor) is now pulling each visual effects shot out of the film and converting them to QuickTime files. Matt Twyford (VFX Supervisor) will use these files to start the pre-visual process.

Meeting today with Miguel Mera (Composer), Matt Twyford (VFX Supervisor) and Eddie Hamilton (Editor).

As the cut of the film progresses so the fine tuning of the edit and music continues. We had a long meeting this morning with Miguel and spotted the film with his temporary score in place. Miguel will now start to refine his score as we get closer to a locked picture.

Preliminary work on the visual effects will begin sometime next week. Each visual effects shot will be given to Matt and his team to work on as QuickTime files, they will then produce pre-visual QuickTime's that will be cut back into the film on the Avid. Once the picture is locked, the negative will be scanned and work on the visual effects will begin in earnest.

Finally, a full day in the edit suit with Eddie Hamilton (Editor) to begin fine cutting, "Moth". Miguel Mera (Composer) has been working on various themes for the film, these tracks were used to add temporary music to the cut.

All the material, the eye shot and title elements which we shot 10 days ago at Panavision, have now been digitised into the Avid. Joe Sharpe (Titles Designer) produced a rough cut of the titles sequence and this was cut into the film along with the extreme close up of Joseph Friend's eye (Tommy). We now have a complete cut of the film and will be reviewing this with our composer and visual effects supervisor over the next few weeks. All being well we will start the visual effects work in the near future.

It was fantastic to have a full day in the edit suite and we are very excited with the results. We are getting much closer to a final cut and the film is showing considerable promise.
