This morning we viewed the results of the camera test, at Technicolor. A combination of the Varicon and a bleaching process at the lab will create the look for the film. Gavin will slide mount frames from the film for us to look again at all the options before a final decision is made.

Production meeting. More crew are lined up for the shoot, we're delighted at the caliber of people interested in joining our production.

We also confirmed our final location. We dropped a location last week and have looked at several since. We'll be shooting a large proportion of the film in this location - so we've been keen to find something that's practical and has a certain character. Our experience with the problems we've been faced with so far is that the solution has exceeded our original expectations. This new location is a prime example. Experiences like this just heighten the excitement as we draw nearer to principal photography.

Camera tests today at Panavision. We shot 400' of film and from this we'll know just how to light and shoot for the present day sequences in the film. We also tested make-up and costume on Alison, who'll be playing Sarah.

We spent the day in a test room at Panavision, shooting on a Panaflex GII. We tried various lighting setups, with and without Freddie's Varicon (A device fitted to the camera that pre-flashes the film and affects the depths of blacks in the photographed image). Combined with gels, lighting and processing techniques, this can produce a very interesting look for the finished film. Today's test will help establish this look.

Panavision have been particularly helpful and supportive, we owe them a huge thank you.

Unfortunately, due to a clash of commitments, we've lost Gordon Hayman as our camera operator. We are, however, delighted to have in his place Rodrigo Gutierrez, whose credits include, Gladiator, Plunkett & Macleane and The Match.

A very exciting day, we finally got our hands on the camera and exposed some film. We look forward to viewing the rushes.

The main part of 'Charlie' has now been cast with a leading British actor. A cast list will be published once all is signed and sealed. Watch this space.

We also confirmed with Focal Press the book proposal we've been discussing with them. The book is provisionally titled, "Ghosthunter, Making a Short Feature". Ian Lewis, the writer, will be following the film through production, post production and its release.
